FEBRUARY 1 TO 4
A favorite of its programming last year, the Double Agents are happy to welcome them once again to Quebec. This grandiose show, acclaimed in 11 countries including France, Germany, Russia and China, gives way to the 14 best dancers and musicians from the most prestigious Irish companies, true ambassadors of this culture.
Irish Celtic, this is the story of Paddy, this old alcoholic Irishman, owner of his pub for several decades. He is about to bequeath it to his son Diarmuid, but the latter, lazy and carefree, prefers dancing to serving good “Guinness” or “the alcohol of life” (whisky) to the customers of the Irish Celtic bar. But before becoming an owner, Diarmuid must learn the history and culture of his country.
For nearly two hours, in the decor of his pub, Paddy, between two drinks, will tell him his story, that of the Emerald Isle and its legends, the story that made dance a principle, a way of life across the generations, from 7 to 77 years old.
Illustrated by different paintings, all more authentic than each other, Paddy's stories, full of humor and anecdotes, will lead us on a fabulous journey, enriched by explosive tap dancing, magnificent music, precise choreography and costumes. that transport us from one era to another.
With talented dancers on stage and live musicians, selected from among the best, Irish Celtic will share unique moments with you, discover legendary songs, Celtic traditions and the mysteries of their island.
The dancers electrify the audience with their dizzying dynamism and the rhythmic force of the explosive sound of tap dancing; we literally enter the whirlwind of this show! Irish Celtic offers colorful costumes amplified by bespoke lighting that creates a unique experience. This is the perfect opportunity to hear the songs, legends, traditions and dances of a culture as rich as it is ancestral. With the melancholy sounds of the bagpipes, the melodic tones of the guitar and the accordion, the soft oscillation of the piano or the wild melodies of the Irish fiddle, you can literally hear the heart of Ireland beating!
